The Roots Of Our Heart

This year my dad prayed for the LORD to bless our trees; He did, but not in the way we were hoping for.

We were hoping for the kind of blessing that would provide us with lots of delicious fresh fruit.

God gave us the kind that would bless the roots.

Not only did He bless the roots of the tree, He also blessed the roots of the heart. My heart. My family's heart.

God has provided us with a wonderful church family.

Some of the time, I wonder if God sent the church from heaven with some of His angels who liked to farm.

I doubt it, but He could have!

Of course, you are probably wondering how those roots of the heart were blessed. (sorry! I digress often!)

The LORD blessed the roots of the heart, by starting them with seeds of love being planted.

He gave us many people who tend to that seed and water it.

A man up at our church gave us peaches. We are growing peach trees, but our trees never would have produced that many and survived. Thus blessing the roots of our heart and the roots of the trees.

The same thing happened with our apple trees. Our trees only gave two apples. The trees are new, they needed to build roots and the fruit would have drained to much life out of them. Therefore the roots were blessed by the LORD. We were given about 300 apples from various people. Our heart roots were VERY blessed.

To wrap up this post, I will put the words to two hymns that would accurately 'sing my heart song.'

Come, Ye Thankful people come
by Henry Alford
Psalm 95:2

Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
Come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.

All the world is God’s own field, fruit unto His praise to yield;
Wheat and tares together sown unto joy or sorrow grown.
First the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear;
Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be.

For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take His harvest home;
From His field shall in that day all offenses purge away,
Giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast;
But the fruitful ears to store in His garner evermore.

Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring Thy final harvest home;
Gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin,
There, forever purified, in Thy garner to abide;
Come, with all Thine angels come, raise the glorious harvest home.

The LORD Will Provide
by Mrs. A.W.Cook\Rodney "gypsy" Smith
Genesis 22:14

In some way or other
The Lord will provide;
It may not be my way,
It may not be thy way,
And yet in His own way,
The Lord will provide.

At some time or other
The Lord will provide;
It may not be my time,
It may not be thy time,
And yet in His own time,
The Lord will provide.

Despond then no longer,
The Lord will provide;
And this be the token—
No word He hath spoken
Was ever yet broken:
“The Lord will provide.”

March on, then, right boldly,
The sea shall divide;
The pathway made glorious,
With shoutings victorious,
We’ll join in the chorus:
“The Lord will provide.”

Sleep Should Stay Longer!

I'm up in the middle of the night the second time in a month.

Maybe it has been two weeks...

I just checked, it has been two weeks.

The cause is sorta, kinda on the same topic.

Migraines. I had one again.

But, it wasn't migraines that woke me up this time, it was stomach cramps. I think the tummy cramps might have had something to do with dinner last night..

 We had turkey noodle soup.

YUCKY!!!!

GROSS!!!!!!

When ever I write the name of the soup, think the name of the soup, think about the soup or anything else to do with that soup, well lets just say the picture isn't pretty.

Don't ask me why, because I have NO IDEA!

Maybe its psychological...

It might not be though, seeing I can almost tell you what I hate about it. I've hated it my entire life. There that is almost it, but there is something else also... maybe

I've gotten to the point where I'll actually eat it, but only when I'm really hungry. Really, REALLY hungry. As in after having a smoothie for lunch. Yeah, that makes a person hungry!

Or if there is cheesecake for dessert and parents are operating on the"you have to finish your food to get dessert" they always have to operate on. I think dessert was actually designed by parents with picky eaters, just so that they could design the rule and make the child eat all that nasty food.

I really do!

Ok I was talking about being up in the middle of the night. And yes, It still is the middle of the night! 1:34 to be exact and I've been up for about an hour!(though it probably wont be when this post is published! hehehe)

And I'm sick.

Only with a cold fortunately!

But unfortunately it means I need more sleep. Of course, I haven't let my body know yet. I haven't let my body know I'm tired either. Sadly I might need to before I finish this post.

Ok. I have been up for about an hour-and-a-half, and in that hour-and-a-half, I have worked on my homework mentally(for about 5 seconds) written a blog post, finished reading 2006 on a friends blog, and (barely) manage to stay awake.

YEAH ME!!!

Now I think I'll head to bed.

P.S. Its almost 2am on the day before Thanksgiving, so today is also the day before the day before the day when I go shopping at about 4am with my aunt for a bunch of cheap stuff.

P.P.S. This post was supposed to posted on the 23. I'm not sure when it will be!

First Time for Everything

There is, like I said, a first time for everything. This time it was my first time to make a pecan pie. All by myself!

This is how my first ever attempt to make pie crust ended. It was so gross the chickens wouldn't even eat it.

This was my next try.
I rolled it out and it looked like this
with a little help.

We grind our own flower. I made a MESS!

Here is my mixture.
Here is a picture of the pie in the oven.
(it hasn't cooked yet!)
and another
And finally...
Hooray!!!

I did it!!!

Now the only thing left is to see what it tastes like...

It's 2am and I'm Blogging

Wow! I'm really tired and my eyes hurt.

I just got out of the shower after waking up to the most horrible sensation EVER!

Corn syrup.

Yup.

In. My. Hair.

"Sounds like fun!" you say.

"I wanna' try it!" you say.

NO, PEOPLE! this is NOT fun and you do NOT wanna try it!

You probably are wondering how I got corn syrup in my hair. Good question! Google didn't have any hints on what to do. I had to figure it out my self.(That was probably a good thing, most of the time Google has some of the dumbest hints ever.) Ok, I'm back from the rabbit trail.

Last night I had a migraine. It was like a real migraine. Head throbbing, eyes throbbing, bad vision and everything. So I grabbed an ice back, filled with corn syrup, (That was my mistakeand placed it over my eyes. Sigh! I felt so much better.

The next thing I know, there is something sticky all over. My first thought was to go back to sleep and worrying about it in the morning, (it was 2am after all!) but I decided against it after discovering how difficult it was to sit up to see what had happened.

Quickly I dashed up the stairs, grabbed a towel, and cleaned my hair. Fortunately the corn syrup came out pretty well with a shower(phew!)

After cleansing my hair of the stuff, I realized I still had to worry about my bed, blankets and pillows.

I soon decided to ditch that whole idea and slept on the couch, although I did get my bedding started in the laundry at my mom's advice.

Now it is three days later, my bedroom is much less sticky, my hair is no longer sticky, my migraine is gone and I am back to my life of Sibilocity.
